            December: After MRS, Prof. Weihs gave an invited lecture in the Alloy Design Workshop at MIT.

            December: Several Weihs group members presented at the Materials Research Society conference in Boston. Elliot and Kerri-Lee each gave invited talks, and Elliot, Shane, Jesse and Ruku each gave oral research presentations. During the conference, Prof. Weihs hosted a Weihs group re-union!

            October: Kerri-Lee Chintersingh-Dinnall joined the Weihs group as a postdoc after completing her Ph.D. at NJIT under Prof. Edward Dreizen. Welcome to the group, Kerri-Lee!

            September: Shane successfully defended his thesis proposal. Congratulations, Shane!

            August: Monica Inouye joined the Weihs group as a Ph.D. student. Her research will focus on applying reactive materials to chemical agent defeat. Welcome to the Weihs group, Monica!

            June: Prof. Weihs hosts an end-of-semester party for the group! After a day of relaxing at the pool, the group retired to Prof. Weihs' house for some croquet, a barbeque, and charades.



            May: Elliot Wainwright was elected as a Co-Chair of the Graduate Representative Organization, and Shane Arlington was elected as Secretary. Congratulations, Elliot and Shane!

            May: Xiaolong Ma and Suhas EP et al published "Dynamic precipitation and recrystallization in Mg-9wt.%Al during equal-channel angular extrusion: A comparative study to conventional aging" in Acta Materialia. Congratulations, Xiaolong and Suhas!

            May: Suhas EP was awarded MEDE-MSA Fellowship, which will support his collaborative work with Prof. Joseph Robson in the Department of Materials Engineering at the University of Manchester. Congratulations, Suhas!

            April: Shane Arlington travelled to Germany and Switzerland to perform collaborative experiments at the Swiss Light Source with former group member Dr. Karsten Woll and his Ph.D. student Tobias Neuhauser from Karlsruhe Institute of Technology. SLS2019

            March: Shane Arlington et al published "A nanocalorimetric study of the effect of composition gradients on crystallization in amorphous Cu-Zr thin films" in AIP Advances. Congratulations, Shane!

            February: Shashank Vummidi Lakshman et al published "The effect of chemical composition and milling conditions on composite microstructure and ignition thresholds of AlZr ball milled powders" in Powder Technology. Congratulations, Shashank!
