Jackson Goedjen
Jackson Goedjen joined the Weihs Group as a PhD student in June 2023. His current research focuses on a combinatorial approach to the production of refractory alloys via sputter deposition. Prior to joining the Weihs Group, Jackson completed degrees in Materials Science and Engineering (B.Sc.) and Arabic Language and Culture (B.A.) at North Carolina State University in Raleigh, NC. During his undergraduate career, Jackson earned a Reactor Operator License from the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission for the NC State PULSTAR Nuclear Reactor. In addition to his experience with nuclear energy and materials, Jackson has also worked with Lucideon M+P, a materials development and testing consultancy, to synthesize and characterize novel perovskites. Outside of academics, Jackson enjoys rock climbing, ultimate frisbee, data science and visualization, and playing chess.
