Sophia joined the Weihs group as a PhD student in August 2025, after graduating from NC State University in May 2025 with a BS in Materials Science and Engineering. She works on bioabsorbable metals, including Magnesium- and Zinc-based alloys. In her free time, Sophia enjoys crossword puzzles, reading, art, and mending.
