Sreenivas Raguraman
Graduate Student
Sreenivas joined the Weihs group in August of 2021 after completing a B.Tech in Metallurgical and Material Engineering from the National Institute of Technology, Tiruchirappalli, India. During his stint at the National University of Singapore and the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore, he worked on developing magnesium alloys used for biomedical applications and studied the recrystallization behavior of magnesium and titanium alloys. His current research topics include the development of biodegradable magnesium alloys for bone fixation, thermomechanical processing of magnesium alloys, and studying the impact of excess vacancies on solute clustering and precipitation in light alloys. He is also a visiting researcher at the National Institute of Standards and Technology, and Pacific Northwest National Laboratory.
