Dr. Weihs has over 20 years experience in the fabrication and characterization of solid materials with a focus on thin films, structural materials, hard biomaterials, and reactive materials. He joined the Department of Materials Science and Engineering at Johns Hopkins in 1995, but took a three year leave of absence in 2002 to co-found and serve as CEO of Reactive NanoTechnologies. Prior to joining Hopkins Dr. Weihs earned a B.S. from Dartmouth College, an M.E. from Thayer School of Engineering and a Ph.D. from Stanford University. He also completed postdoctoral research positions at Oxford University and Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory.
