Shane et al published “Environmentally Friendly Chemical Time Delays Based on Interrupted Reaction of Reactive Nanolaminates” in ACS Sustainable Chemistry & Engineering. The article describes and characterizes a new method to create chemical time delays – devices that burn over a specific time period to ignite other pyrotechnic devices – which does not involve any of the environmentally hazardous materials typically employed for that purpose. Congratulations, Shane!
